Plans change, and you can reschedule or cancel a therapy appointment you booked through Serene yourself, without calling or emailing your therapist to arrange it. This guide shows how to reach the booking, what your options are, and what happens after you make a change. The whole thing takes a minute, and your therapist is notified automatically.
Every confirmation email you receive has a link to manage that specific appointment. Opening it shows the booking details: the service, the date and time, your therapist, and the status. This is the page where you make changes, so the fastest way to reach it is to find the confirmation email for the appointment you want to change and follow its link.
If you cannot find the email, you can still reach your appointments through your portal. Go to the find your portal page, verify with the code sent to your email, open your therapist's portal, and look in the Appointments section, which is covered in the guide on using your client portal.
Choosing to reschedule opens your therapist's live availability, the same set of open slots you saw when you first booked. Pick a new day and time that works, confirm it, and the appointment moves. You keep the same service and the same therapist, only the time changes.
Because the times shown are your therapist's real availability, you can only move to a slot they are actually free for, so there is no risk of picking a time that turns out to be double-booked.
If you need to cancel rather than move the appointment, choose to cancel and confirm. Your therapist is notified, and the time is freed for someone else. Cancelling does not remove your history with the therapist, so your past sessions and your portal stay exactly as they were.
Whether a cancellation is refundable depends on your therapist's own policy, not on Serene. If you paid for the session and are unsure about a refund, ask your therapist directly.
Once you reschedule or cancel, the change is immediate. You will see the updated details, your therapist is notified, and for a reschedule the new time replaces the old one everywhere, including in your portal and on your therapist's calendar. For an online session, a reschedule keeps your join link tied to the new time, so use the most recent confirmation to join.
If you want to book an additional session rather than change an existing one, return to your therapist's page and follow the steps in booking a session.
