Using your client portal

On this page

Your therapy client portal is the private space that comes with booking through Serene, and this guide shows how to find it and what each part does. Everything connected to your care with a therapist lives here in one place: your upcoming and past appointments, any forms to complete, documents your therapist shares with you, and files you upload. You do not create an account, you reach it with the email you booked with.

Find and open your portal

You get to your portal from the find your portal page. Go to the find your portal page, enter the email address you used when you booked, and Serene sends a short verification code to that email. Enter the code, and you will see the portal for each therapist you have booked with. Choosing one opens that therapist's portal.

Using a code sent to your email is how Serene keeps your information private without making you remember another password. Each time you come back, you verify with a fresh code, so only someone with access to your inbox can open your portal.

Tip
Use the same email every time you book with a therapist. Your portal is tied to that address, so booking once with one email and again with another can split your history across two portals.

What is inside

The portal is organized into sections you can move between. Depending on what your therapist has set up, you will see some or all of these:

  • Profile, your basic details on file with this therapist.
  • Intake Forms, any forms your therapist has asked you to complete before a session. This section only appears when you have forms waiting.
  • Assessments, questionnaires your therapist may share to track how you are doing over time. This section only appears when assessments have been shared with you.
  • My Uploads, where you can upload files your therapist needs, such as a document or a photo.
  • Shared Documents, files your therapist shares with you, such as summaries, resources, or paperwork.
  • Appointments, your upcoming and past sessions with this therapist.

Sections that do not apply to you simply are not shown, so a portal with no forms or assessments looks simpler than one that has them.

Complete forms and upload files

If your therapist has assigned intake forms, the Intake Forms section lists them, and you can open and complete each one from there. The full walkthrough is in the guide on completing intake forms.

When your therapist needs a file from you, use My Uploads to add it. Your therapist sees what you upload, so this is the safe way to share something like insurance paperwork or a referral rather than sending it over regular email.

Important
Treat your portal as the secure channel for anything sensitive. Documents you share here go only to your therapist, which is safer than attaching them to an ordinary email.

See and manage your appointments

The Appointments section shows your sessions, both the ones coming up and the ones you have already had. For an upcoming session, this is where you confirm the details are right, and for an online session it is where you find the link to join.

If you need to change a time, you do not have to wait for your therapist to do it. You can reschedule or cancel yourself, which is covered in the guide on managing your bookings. If you want to book another session, you can always return to your therapist's page and go through the steps in booking a session.
